Disabling IE enhanced security configuration (IE ESC) on Windows Server 2012

I do not like to see this:

Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration is enabled

Well great, but how do I get rid of it?

Of course I am assuming that you understand the risks behind doing this.. Microsoft usually has great reasons for doing things and from a security perspective you should not be enabling this if you do not understand the risks involved.

  1. Run the Server Manager

  1. In the Server Manager Dashboard > Local Server.

  1. Server Properties > IE Enhanced Security Configuration > Click ‘On’

  1. Choose to turn off Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration for Administrators and/or Users. After selecting your option, Click ‘On’

  1. Refresh and the IE Enhanced Security Configuration should now show as ‘Off.’
