ppcore.dll is missing

I just downloaded Microsoft’s SharePoint 2013 presentations for IT pros here. Or if you want all of them here. Now I have a nice chunk of pptx files to go through.

Except, when I open PowerPoint I get the following error:

“The program can’t start because ppcore.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem”

After some searching I found that this is a security issue and actually ahs nothing to do with the dll in question.

So how do you fix this?

Open the properties of the file in explorer and simply select Unblock.
