The status code is “OK”.. no it’s not

I got this error while trying to connect to SPD. And got it fixed by increasing my paging file size. SharePoint Designer Error: An error occured while trying to fetch data from your Sharepoint site. Unexpected response from the server. The content type of the response is “”. The status code is “OK”

So I suddenly cannot connect to my SharePoint site.. So I go here to see what Clayton said.. and then I thought that if it was something to do with multiple bindings to IIS then I should be aware of that already as I haven’t made any changes to the Farm recently..

Then I decide to do a IIS reset as this always tends to get rid of the old problems and usually replaces the boring old problems with new exciting ones.

Then I cannot open Powershell.. the server has run out of paging space. Of course, I reduced paging size so that I could backup the farm on the very small 60GB driver.. and never got it back to the original 12GB from 4GB..

And now I can connect.

What a way to start the week.
